Niovi Georgiade

Niovi holds a BA in International and European Economic Studies, and two MAs—in International Politics and Labour Studies. After her studies, she completed an internship at the Employment and Social Affairs Committee of the European Parliament, as well as a traineeship at the office of the Cypriot MEP, I. Kasoulides. She launched her career in 2008 at the Office of the Commissioner for Administration and Human Rights (Ombudsman), mainly dealing with Equality Authority issues. In 2010 she began a 3-year secondment working for the Policy Coordination and Programme Unit of the Secretariat for the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of EU. As of 2013, she returned to the Office of the Commissioner for Administration and Human Rights (Ombudsman), dealing with equality and non-discrimination issues, coordinating the communication team, acting as a liaison officer with the Equinet Network, conducting speeches and presentations in schools (human rights, combating discrimination and racism) and in the public sector (combating sexual harassment in the workplace), as well as conducting awareness campaigns.
