Patricia Phaedonos

Patricia is a counselling expert, with a focus on helping youth. She has been a School Counsellor since 2009, and since 2013, she’s been a member of the Intervention Team on School Violence. She has volunteered at the Cyprus Family Planning Association (CFPA) since 1999, where she offers training services and supports the helpline. She is also a volunteer for ACCEPT, an NGO supporting the rights of the LGBT community in Cyprus. Patricia’s extensive expertise also includes her role as Counsellor to students at the University of Nicosia between 2007 and 2009. In 2004 she worked for two years at the Association for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in the Family (SPAVO), where she remains an active volunteer. She was also a member of the board of SPAVO for four years and represents them to this day at the Cyprus Women’s Lobby. Patricia received a BSc in Psychology from the University of Sunderland (UK) and an MA in Integrative Counselling Practice from Derby University (UK). During her studies, she focused on issues of young offenders, rape, sexual abuse, loss, bereavement, terminal illnesses, amongst others.
